The ever-present yet somehow elusive well-fitting linen pant is a powerful asset in any summer wardrobe. Ranging from casual drawstring to formal trouser, the linen bottom can suit a wide range of end uses, and today we’ll do our best to tackle them all at a somewhat reasonable price-point. It’s important to remember that linen is an expensive textile, and quality can vary heavily with price - cheap linen can fall apart in a few washes, whereas robust long staple linen can last decades. American Trench French Linen Trouser
Currently the best pair of linen pants in my wardrobe, these flat-front, classic fit trousers are made in New England from a gorgeous mid-weight linen. They’re breathable, yet durable, and fit beautifully.
Arket Linen Drawstring Trouser
This is a solid affordable and casual option for those looking to dip their toe into the world of linen bottoms.
NN07 Bill 1454
And for a decently priced pleated pair, I’d recommend this option from Copenhagen based NN07. I’ve tried on the slimmer pair of these in person, the quality was stellar, my only beef was with the slim fit which is rectified here!
Banana Republic Agustin Relaxed Pant
And finally we’ll end off the free recommendations with Banana Republic’s billowing double pleated trouser that looks fresh out of Purple Noon.
