Like many of you folks, I’ve been missing my boots ever since things heated up last June. Although I’m sad to see the days get shorter and the weather colder, I’m glad I’ll be able to put some miles on my favourite pairs of boots and recommend some to you while I’m at it! Often the hardest wearing item in one’s wardrobe, a good pair of boots is worth putting some money into. Personally, I still love the look of a classic or contemporary hiker (call it passé, I don’t care) for more casual wear, and a sleek heeled boot for more buttoned-up affairs. Let’s not waste any more time, and start recommending you some boots!
Red Wing SuperSole Moc
From America’s premier work boot manufacturer, we’ve got a diesel lace-up boot with a padded collar, triple stitching, a contrast stitch moc-toe, and speed-lacing hooks. Super functional, but a bit sleeker than your average work boot.
Camper Dean Ankle Boot
Now I’m not much of a desert boot guy, they’ve always given me “32-year-old-LA-guy-with-flat-brimmed-hat-and-arm-band-tattoo-and-lots-of-bead-and-braided-leather-bracelets-plus-maybe-some-fake-RayBan-clubmasters” vibes. But in this thicker stacked sole with a clean black leather upper, I think they feel a lot more grown up.
Clarks Originals Wallabee Boot
If you couldn’t tell I’m on a bit of a black footwear kick, but for good reason! If you don’t agree, just get these in another colour, but I really like the vibe of the Wallabee high in this smooth black leather.
Morjas Hiking Boot
For that heritage hiker look I really love the Morjas take with that Goodyear welted lug sole, shiny D-ring hardware, and chocolate pebbled leather. Super-lux for such a utilitarian silhouette.
Oakley Vertex Boot
Then for your more modern hiker, I really dig Oakley’s take. The tonal material contrast between suede and nylon feels elevated yet still a little gorpy. Really well done.
