29 Spring Cut/Sew Layers
My favourite well-made base layers on the market.
I recently talked about how a good stock of interesting base layers can make a big difference in how your Spring/Summer wardrobe comes off. Warmer weather usually brings our layer count to a max of two — a base layer (t-shirt, waffle, sleeveless undershirt), and an outer layer (button-up, light jacket, flannel, thin sweater). A lot of us guys gloss right over our base layer and opt for a black, white, or navy tank/tee, and focus all of our attention on the outer layer.
In my most recent article, I made the case for investing more time, money, and attention into your base layers. There’s some great inspiration and references in there along with a bunch of good styling examples. In this article I’ll be listing off 29 examples of base layers you can go and pick up yourself. There’s everything from sun-faded loop wheel tees to colour-blocked waffles, striped mariner shirts, and even a few plain simple tees. Stay tuned for my round up of 2nd hand listings, and happy hunting!
